Baby Cafe & Pizzeria -Richmond

Oh Baby! The moment you walk through the doors of this italian pizzeria, you are greeted with an oh so yummy smell of pizza and pasta which just activates your taste buds!

This place is BUSY!! and i mean BUSY! there are people constantly flooding the doors all night as there is a no booking policy. I have never seen an empty table.

Why… well the FOOD is why. Yummy, smack in your face, full of flavour Italian dishes that just pack a punch and leave you satisfied!

Calamari with rocket and olive tepanade.
The crisp peppery rocket and saltiness of the olives balances well with the perfectly cooked calamri.. 9/10

Do not be fooled by the look of this dish. Although not eyecatching.. WOW this yellowfin tuna tartare is bang on with flavour, chilli, capers and parsley.. oh and did i mention the tuna simply melts in ur mouth… 9/10

The Spagetti Marinara was ok… great flavours, but i thought lacked some moisture. 7/10

Pumkin and sage gnocchi, sprinkled with a generous helping of parmesan. Hearty, classic flavours with soft pillowy goodness! 8/10

The oven baked potatoes were moreish and definately done in a woodfired oven giving them a crispy skin and creamy inside.. seasoned with sea salt, rosemary and olive oil. 9/10

Funghi Pizza was crispy based and delish! 8/10.

Tiramisu.. one of my favourite deserts… it still doesnt beat Pizza E-Birra in St Kilda which is my fave… but this one comes in a close 2nd. Creamy marscapone, soft, moist coffee soaked italian sponge biscuit and a sprinkle of cocoa.. not too sweet at all.  9/10.
